BY ART MATTERS is pleased to present Mei-yu Front, a major two-person exhibition bringing into dialogue the work of the female artists Katinka Bock and Tong Wenmin. Taking its title from the plum rains that sweep across Hangzhou’s Mei-yu seasons, the exhibition draws on the meteorological phenomenon of two equally matched air masses in continual tension. This becomes a metaphor for the artists’ long-anticipated encounter and exchange. It marks the museum’s second dialogue-focused exhibition since opening, continuing its commitment to fostering in-depth encounters and productive creative friction between Chinese and international artists.
