As part of Szenenwechsel 4, the artist Tamina Amadyar (born 1989, Kabul) brings a distinctive contemporary perspective to the exhibition. Her large-format paintings emerge from the interplay of intensely luminous fields of colour, combining abstract painting with personal memories and perceptions. Amadyar translates experiences of light and space – such as those from travels – into dense, atmospheric pictorial spaces. Using pigments in rabbit-skin glue and a gestural application of paint, she creates surfaces that shift between stillness and movement, making the space tangible in a unique way.

The Artists’ Rooms are places where art is made, tried out and thought further. Building on the collection, they focus on individual contemporary artists and their working methods. Here there is space for new ideas, for dialogue with the collection and for works developed specifically for these spaces.
